Career

College and Amateur

Lipset attended St. Paul Academy, where he was a two-time all-conference and two-time all-state player, played club soccer for NSSA Rovers, and was part of the Minnesota Olympic Development Program. He played one year of college soccer at University of Wisconsin–Madison for head coach Jeff Rohrman, before transferring to Claremont McKenna College in Los Angeles prior to his sophomore season.[1]

During his college years Lipset also played with Yakima Reds in the USL Premier Development League.

Professional

Following his graduation from college Lipset attended tryouts with the Vancouver Whitecaps and Harrisburg City Islanders, but was not offered a professional contract, and instead signed to play with the Kitsap Pumas for another season in the USL Premier Development League. He played 15 games and scored 1 goal for the Pumas, helping them to the PDL Northwest Division title in their debut year.[2]

After attending more trials in early 2010, notably with the Austin Aztex, Lipset signed his first professional contract in 2010 when he was signed by the NSC Minnesota Stars of the USSF Division 2 Professional League. He made his professional debut on June 15, 2010, in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game against KC Athletics.[3]
