Max Bumgardner (born May 13, 1923 in Wichita Falls, TX) is a former NFL defensive back. After earning his B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Texas in 1948[1], he was drafted to play professionally by the Chicago Bears, but was sent to the Detroit Lions. He played for just one year.
