Maulana Fazl Ahmad Khan-(Huzur Maharaj)
(Hujur Maharaj) Maulana Fazl Ahmad Khan, also known as Huzur Maharaj, was a great revolutionary saint, who distinguished spirituality from religion. He stated that the Almighty is not concerned with one's religion but with love. Spirituality does not need following any particular religion. Customs and rituals are only outer form of religion, which depend upon the place and social circumstances. spirituality, however, is seeking the truth and self-realization that are the matters of soul, which is same in everyone and above all these things. He belonged to the Naqshbandi lineage, which started in India with Hazrat Muhammad-al Baqi Billah. He was born in 1857 at Raipur in Kaimganj district, Uttar Pradesh. His father was Shaikh Gulam Hussain. Shaikh Gulam Hussain was a Master in the Order of great Sufi Saint Maulana Waliuddin of Kashmir. Maulana Afjal Shah, who was a disciple and Khalifa of Shaikh Abul Hasan, initiated mother of Huzur Maharaj in the Naqshbandi Order. Huzur Maharaj spent most of his time in Raipur except for a few years when he served in Farukhabad. He lived a very simple and pious life. He was a true Sufi saint, who declared and authorized Mahatma Ramchandra of Fatehgarh as his successor.
