Matthew C. Stephenson is Professor of Law, Harvard Law School. His research interests are Administrative law, Environmental law, Law & Development, Law and Positive Political Theory. He has served as a consultant to the World bank and as Special rapporteur for the Commission on the Legal Empowerment of the Poor. Prior to joining the Harvard faculty, Professor Stephenson clerked for senior Judge Stephen Williams on the D.C. Circuit and for Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court. He received his J.D. and his Ph.D (political science) from Harvard in 2003 and his B.A. from Harvard in 1997. He is the co-author of the casebook Legislation and Regulation (Foundation Press, 2010).
He has an A.B. from Harvard College (1997), a J.D. from Harvard Law School (2003) and a Ph.D from Harvard University in Political Science (2003).
