Matthew Taylor Purke (born July 17, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Washington Nationals organization.

Professional career

Purke was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft out of Klein High School in Klein, Texas, but he did not sign and decided to attend Texas Christian University.^[1] He was then drafted by the Washington Nationals in the third round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.^[2] He signed a major league deal on August 15, 2011.^[3]
