Minor league career
Miller was originally selected from Texas State University by the Colorado Rockies in the 13th round (380th overall) of the 2004 amateur entry draft.[2] His minor league totals in six seasons show a combined .311 batting average, with 253 extra-base hits and 479 RBIs.[3] Miller's performance has risen considerably over the past few seasons. While playing for the Asheville Tourists in 2005, Miller led the Single-A South Atlantic League with 168 hits.[4] His .344 average with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers in 2008 led the Texas League.[5] He was called up to finish the 2008 season with the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox, where he hit .331 over 33 games.[6] Miller received a non-roster invitation to Major League camp in February 2010 and was reassigned to the minor leagues in March.[7]
