Matt Gentry

Matt Gentry (born on July 30, 1982 in Grants Pass, Oregon, United States) is a male freestyle wrestler from Canada. He participated in the Men's freestyle 74 kg at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He lost in the 1/8 of final with Emzarios Bentinidis from Greece.[1] In 2007 he won a bronze medal at the Pan-Am Games.

Matt Gentry attended college at Stanford University, graduating in 2004 with a degree in Human Biology. As an undergraduate he was "one of the most successful wrestlers in school history", going 42-0 in 2004; that undefeated season made him Stanford's first NCAA champion in wrestling and an All-American.[2] He is now an assistant coach at Stanford.
