Martin Hinteregger ( born September 7 th, 1992 in Feldkirchen, Carinthia) is an Austrian footballplayer currently playing for FC Red Bull Salzburg as defender.

Club career

He started playing football in his local soccerclub SGA Sirnitz and played for different youth teams. In July 2006 he was transferred to FC Red Bull Salzburg where he played in different youth teams. His first appearance in a professional team was on April 23 in the second team (Red Bull Juniors) versus FC Dornbirn in the second Austrian Football league. Due to the injury of Andreas Ulmer he was transferred to the first squad. In the match versus Manchester City he was a substitute and he made his debut in the team versus SV Kapfenberg on October 16, 2010. Five days later he debuted in an international match versus Juventus Turin.

In the 2011/12 season he signed a contract for the first squad. In the homematch versus Omonia Nicosia on August 25th,2011 he shot the 1:0 which brought the promotion to the UEFA- Euroleague group stage.[1]

International career

In April 2007 he started his international career playing versus Macedonias U17 (two times). He was also playing matches for Austrias U18 (4 times) and U19 (also 4 times) team.

Trivia

Martin Hintereggers grandfather played in the first football team of the new found SGA Sirnitz. His sister Christina is playing in the women team of the club. His father is youth coach for SGA Sirnitz.
