The Mark Williams Van Proyen Records Founder Ken Stallings Genre Indie Rock, Jazz, Bluegrass, Folk Country of origin United States Location Los Angeles, California Mark Williams Van Proyen Records is an independent record label in Los Angeles, California, founded, owned and operated by Ken Stallings, of Stallings Group LTD. Inspired by the singer/songwriter Mark Williams and art critic Mark Van Proyen, Stallings started the label originally with the intention of “bringing previously unheard voices to a select audience of like-minded real music fans”.
The Mark Williams Van Proyen Records motto is “Los Angeles is Everywhere Since 2008”. The label has been influential in DIY jazz culture, particularly in the North Los Angeles music scene. It is the subject of an in-progress documentary entitled Los Angeles Is Now Everywhere, directed by Matthew Walcutt.
