His life
Loeber studied classical piano until age 16. After completing high school, as well as a commercial apprenticeship, he commenced studying law with the aim of becoming a specialist solicitor for copyright law.
Under the guidance of his granduncle, Peter K. Burkowitz (*13th June 1920, Königsberg), the developer of the REDD mixing desk which the Beatles used during their recordings at Abbey Road Studios in London, he became familiar with acoustics, the use of microphones and recording techniques. Loeber was a member of the American band »Mac Machine« for ten years, after which he relocated to Hamburg, where he founded his own sound production company.
Music
Loeber has been composing music for commercials since 1990. He has worked for Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Neutrogena, Montblanc, Nike, Macys, Casio and composed music for more than 900 spots. The distinctiveness of his music lies in his use of melody as well as his use of varying musical styles.
Marcus has been endorsed by the Japanese piano manufacturer Yamaha Corporation since 2005 and with their support he gives concerts and reports on how his compositions develop.
Together with his granduncle, Peter K. Burkowitz, and other members of the Audio Engineering Society, he strives to combat the demise of good listening habits caused by data compression (e.g. mp3) as well as trying to make head against financial restrictions during music productions. He argues that the recording of a musical piece should at least mirror a real performance.
