Marcoux Nunatak

Marcoux Nunatak (69°55′S 159°4′E / 69.917°S 159.067°E / -69.917; 159.067) is a nunatak (1,530 m) about midway between Schmidt Nunataks and Poorman Peak in the Wilson Hills. It stands above the ice near the head of Manna Glacier. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for John S. Marcoux, U.S. Navy, aviation structural mechanic with Squadron VX-6, who wintered at McMurdo Station in 1967.
