Manuel Senquiz

Manuel Senquiz (born 1984 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a Puerto Rican American mix martial arts instructor. Manuel Senquiz started martial arts training at a very early age in Tae Kwon Do. After several years he received his first blackbelt. Mr. Senquiz expanded his training in other arts and also achieved the rank of blackbelt. Mr. Senquiz is a certified instructor and enjoys teaching the knowledge, discipline and structure he has gained from his experiences. Through many years of training in different styles Mr. Senquiz realizes it is not about the art that one is practicing, but the interpretation and application of the motion that makes the arts what they are. Mr. Senquiz is a member of the Schucker Martial Arts Association where he attends regular camps and trains with several top masters. Mr. Senquiz also trains at the National Karate Institute. With 20 years experience Mr. Senquiz holds a 3rd dan in Tae Kwon Do, 1st dan in American Kenpo and has studied several grappling arts as well as MMA for over ten years. The schools that Manuel has trained and taught seminars at include Karate Unlimited, Tiger Schullmans mixed martial arts, Kenpo Karate Pennsauken, American karate Systems Merchantville, Shaw's Karate Institute and National Karate Institute.

Challenge of Champions

On June 3, 2007 Manuel won first place in his first of several grappling tournaments that year. Competing in the 150 intermediate division of Challenge of Champions Manuel finished all of his matches by submission.

Naga tournament

Manuel next competed in the Naga tournament. He finished in third place in his division after his match ended in a draw his opponents corner refused to go into overtime debating controversial points for several minutes. Manuel decided to let his opponent have the win so the tournament could continue.

Present life

Manuel continues to teach his vast knowledge of the arts and surrounds himself with motivated martial artist like himself who share the same passion he has for so long.
