Manties

Manties are a man's underwear. They come in many styles, plain. leg lace, or full Manties. They have them in brief or hicut style. They also have sets of the Days of the Week in various styles. They also have an options to embroidery anything you want on them. They are a register trademark underwear.

The website states: For those nights and days, when you want to be and feel a little special, naughty, and very sexy, these Manties® are for you. Once you have them on, it will be "hard" to take them off. They are made of nylon and have the extra room where you need it, for the most comfortable fit there is. Once you try a pair, you will wonder why you never tried them before. Panties are for the gals Manties® are for the guys

Manties were first created in July 2000 by Sharon Skib.

She went out to lunch with her friends and one of them was discussing how boring her husband was in the underwear department. Another friend suggested that she should put on a pair of her panties. Sharon decided to custom make a pair for her friend to give to her husband so he would have a little extra room in the front where it was needed.

He got a big chuckle out of them and said that would be a good idea for a gift. When his birthday came around, Sharon made him a pair similar to what he had seen. They were a big hit as he took them and showed them around to friends and about a week later he returned with all the reactions and comments on them.

As a result of the pair being shown around, other people called her to do some more for other occasions. She had taken pictures of each pair she did to show. One weekend a friend of Sharons, put together a website, on a free server, with the pictures she had, then told her to go to this website and take a look. Sharon was not happy as her email address had been listed on it. The website didn't get taken down by mistake.

Approximately, 2 weeks later someone wrote to place an order. Sharon decided to make them and send them out, as the guy had expected that it was a real website. The website still did not get taken down after that because of some miscommunications. The next week Sharon received a total of three orders for 8 pairs. It was then she decided that she would have her friend do a better website and start making nylon underwear for men that had a little different look and fit to them.

About 5 months later, The orders had been coming in at a steady rate. Sharon then decided to expand her line and once again expanded the website and came up with the new name of " Manties" With the thought of "Panties are for the gals" --- "Manties are for the guys"

In January 2001 a Newswire service picked it up and contacted Sharon for an interview. After the interview they asked if it would be alright to forward to different news media. Sharon said that it would be fine. The very next day she was forced to stay by the phone due to the number of calls that came in for interviews on radio stations. She did approximately 15 interviews that day along with doing numerous others in the following weeks.

The company she had started was suddenly inundated with orders worldwide from the internet. As a result she had to hire 2 seamstresses to assist her. In April 2001 as a result of numerous emails requests, Sharon decided to once again expand the product line. This involved moving to a larger space as well as adding more production machine as well as purchasing computer operated embroidery equipment and software. After all the new additions were in place the current website was created: http://www.manties.net Manties was then trademarked on April 29, 2008 Manties®

Manties are now sold world wide though the website.
