Birth and History
Yogeshwaranand Shri Mangalnath Maharaj was born on 12 August 1936. Keeping with the tradition set by Swami Machindranath, Shri Mangalnath Maharaj was anointed at the spiritual seat of Chitrakoot, Karvi at the age of 10. From that day till today Shri Mangalnath Maharaj has been spreading the universal and spiritual teachings of Swamiji. Shri Mangalnath Maharaj is fondly called as 'Baba' Marathi: बाबा English: Father
Baba has this endearing quality of making each and every disciple feel special. He listens to their smallest problems and misgivings without belittling them. He teaches them to face their problems rather than run away from them.
Teachings
Shri Mangalnath Maharaj has many teachings in the field of Meditation, Yoga, better living, etc.
Sadhanas
Shri Mangalnath Maharaj has in recent years introduced two Sadhanas for the betterment of the people and the upliftment of the spiritual self-through Atmasangh and Jyotirmay Yagya. Both these Sadhanas are not reserved exclusively for Baba's disciples but for all who have faith in Swamiji and His teachings.
Atmasangh
Atmasangh is a concept keeping with the tenets of Nath Panth that one must connect with oneself through 'jap' Marathi: जप (remembering your Sadguru or the Lord) thereby achieving spiritual upliftment.
Jyotirmay Yagya
'Jyoti' Marathi: ज्योतीmeans light and this yagya dispels the darkness in one's life. This Sadhana was initiated by Swami Machchhindranath for welfare of mankind & given the name of " Goraksha Jyotirmaya Yaag ( Yagya)" after his desciple Swami Gorakshanath. Sadhak worships "Vaayu-yantra" given by his sadguru & has a "sankalp"(notion) that this sadhana is for his progress both in spiritual & material world.
Omkar Sadhna
Chanting God's name AUM or OM Sanskrit: ॐ. Omkar is origin of Sound. Sound has power coupled with melody and scientific deliberations. Omkar can be recited with minimum alterations on original sound vibrations of vocal chords.
The three letters A,U & M follow one after another without any break. It is like pouring oil, smooth and uninterrupted.
It is also an exercise of deep breathing. You breath in one measure and release your breath in two measures. Out of these two, One measure for “A”, part of it is “U” and one Measure for “M”.
Joining bridge between “A” & “M” is “U” and is sounded while closing the mouth.Soham Sadhna
The word Soham literally means "Sah"( He the almighty sadguru or god)& " aham" (me). This phrase has the perception that I am merged with my guru & I am totally engrossed in his bliss. This also has a "bhaav" (conviction)that I am on marching the path lit by teachings of my sadguru. This soham sadhana is "advait" philospphy of Naath Sampradaay manifested in day to day life. This sadhana is a "dhwani-sadhana" & consists of soham-nyaas & soham-japa. This sadhana is initiated by sadguru himself.A soham sadhak daily practices his sadhana after remembering guru. A Soham Sadhak takes lessons in his/her "soham sadhana" in an ongoing basis. Such sessions are regularly conducted at Shri Machchhindranath Mandir, Mitmita at Aurangabad under the divine guidance of Sadguru Mangalnath Maharaj.
