Maksym Kovalyov (Ukrainian: Максим Сергійович Ковальов, born 20 March 1989 in Alchevsk, Ukrainian SSR) is a professional Ukrainian football defender who plays on loan for FC Illichivets Mariupol in the Ukrainian Premier League.

He is product of FC Stal Alchevsk and FC Shakhtar Donetsk sportive schools. His first trainer was Vyacheslav Frantsev.[1] Kovalyov become on loan for FC Zorya Luhansk in Ukrainian Premier League from January 2010.
