Mainali

Mainali (मैनाली)is a Nepalese surname predominantly Hindu. They are Brahmins and belongs to Upamanyu gotra(उपमन्यु गोत्र). All under Upamanyu along with Parāshara, Kundina and Vasishtha belong to Vasishta gana. Mainali are Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-Europeans.

They are believed to have immigriated to Kanpur-Kavrepalanchok District from western himalayan range (at the time, Himalayan Range included Afghanistan, Nepal, and India) belt and later residing at dhading ,kathmandu ,chitwan ,jhapa etc of Nepal
