Sam R. Balcomb

Sam R. Balcomb

Sam R. Balcomb is a filmmaker living in Los Angeles, California.

He is best known for being the writer and director of the now failed fantasy film project "Ancanar".

A life-long artist, Sam early-on developed an amazing talent for illustration, which has proven invaluable for the ability to storyboard his own projects. He is a huge fan of the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien. [cite web |url=http://www.thescreamonline.com/art/art06-01/ |title=Sam Balcomb: Featured June Artist |accessdate=2008-04-22 |author= |date=June, 2001 |work=TheScreamOnline |publisher=]

He made his first fantasy movie when he was twelve years old, with cardboard armour and clay dragons. He is currently thrilled to be working with greater production values. Sam has a comprehensive background in art, editing, graphic design, and visual effects - all of which have helped him in the long journey to bring "Ancanar" to the screen.

It was initially thought he was working on the film "The Legend of Zelda", based on the video game. However, IGN announced on April the 2nd 2008, to much speculation and some dismay from fans of the series, that this was merely a hoax. However Sam is credited in the trailer that was produced.
