The tri-color jersey is the distinctive jersey worn by the "Champion of Italy" in charge of a discipline of cycling. The mesh is composed of three horizontal colored bands around the chest. From top to bottom the colors are: green, white and red.

Other popular jerseys are the distinctive yellow, worn by the leader of the Tour de France, the rose, worn by the leader of the Giro d'Italia, and the red worn by the leader of the Vuelta a España. These sweaters are worn but only in the course of its competition, while the Italian champion of a discipline is wearing the tricolore jersey in all
