Gordon Hunter (academic)

Dr Gordon Hunter is a Senior Lecturer in the Machine Learning Group at Kingston University in London, England. His interests include Human Computer Interaction, Ambient Intelligence, Cognitive Architectures, Feature Extraction, Reinforcement Learning, Sports Analysis, Statistical Learning and Modelling.

He has appeared on University Challenge in two different series (once from the Bamber Gascoigne era and once from the Jeremy Paxman era), though several contestants have achieved the same feat.

His current research interests include machine learning applications in the sport of tennis - despite Dr Hunter being a cricket aficionado. His cricketing interests include both watching and playing. After injuring his knee he took up coaching and took the Kingston University 1st XI to 3 cup finals in 2 years, winning 2 of them (2006/2007 and the 2007/2008 seasons)
