Dunedin Academic Press

Dunedin Academic Press

Dunedin Academic Press Ltd (Dunedin) is a small independent academic publisher in Edinburgh, Scotland. It publishes mostly in book form for tertiary level (undergraduate university) and for postgraduate/research audiences. Some books of more general interest appeal to non-specialist adults interested in learning more about geology and allied subjects where Graham Park's Introducing Geology, now in its Second Edition, is a notable success.

The company publishes about twenty new titles each year. It has developed particularly strong lists in the fields of Earth Science, Education (Policy & Practice), Health & Social Care and in comparative religion with the Understanding Faith series. It is also developing a list of singing texts by leading teachers of singing.

Dunedin is distributed in North America by International Specialized Book Services (www.isbs.com) and in Australasia by Inbooks (www.inbooks.com.au). The company is expected to launch its first e-books late in 2010 but a number of Dunedin titles are available in electronic form through content aggregators such as MyiLibrary, Ebrary, 123Library and Questia.

The Dunedin website at www.dunedinacademicpress.co.uk provides a searchable catalogue, organised by broad subject area. It also provides proposal guidelines for authors contemplating making a submission (www.dunedinacademicpress.co.uk/proposal-guidelines.php), full details of international representation and allows customers to buy Dunedin books from Amazon.

Dunedin Academic Press is a member of Publishing Scotland, the network body for the publishing industry in Scotland (www.publishingscotland.co.uk).
