History
The station began broadcasting on FM radio in January 2009; prior to this it was broadcast over the Internet.
Drystone Radio is a not-for-profit community radio station providing media access to local news, issues and interests. The mission statement for the station is:
“To promote active community involvement in regeneration and social inclusion and to enhance diversity and quality within the Yorkshire Dales area through use of community radio as a tool for cohesion, expression and skills development.”
Community radio has a unique place in the UK, giving people within communities a voice whilst providing exciting and diverse radio. Community radio stations can broadcast both terrestrially (i.e.: AM/FM) and/or over the internet.
Drystone Radio broadcasts to the southern yorkshire dales & east Lancashire on 106.9Fm also globally on www.drystoneradio.com with an independent voice which challenges, enriches, informs, stimulates & entertains by targeted broadcasting to the diverse strands of the whole community.[1]

- Daisy Watkiss - Crazy Daisy's Lazy Saturday - Saturday - 12pm - 1pm
- Scott Frobisher - PopZone Radio - Tuesday - 8pm - 9pm
Scott previously co-hosted the show, ReviewShow1069 on Drystone Radio before solo broadcasting on a weekly pop music themed show.
- Kevin Griffiths - Daily Cry Up
Kevin is the official Town Crier to Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and the presenter of the Morning slot at the radio station. Kevin is very colourful character, in more ways than one, Kevin is a well known & well respected Member of The Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers & a Fellow of The Loyal Company of Town Criers.
- Matt Stringer - Drivetime
Matt started as co-presenter of eclectic alternative music show "Hang these DJs" before taking over Drive Home with Drystone, which aims to provide all the usual components of a drivetime show but with a unique, irreverent style that sets it apart from the competitors.
- Sammi Whitaker - The Rad Boutique
Sammi is the host of our mid-morning show, 'The Rad Boutique'. Her show takes on a massive range of music and rounds up with things such as, 'Weird News', 'UK Cinema/DVD Chart', 'Name That Song' and 'Fridays Good News'. Sammi also works with different un-signed and local bands to give them a chance to be heard over the radio.
- Sam Chipman - Classical Gas (Saturday 9:30am–11:00am)
Sam started broadcasting in the summer of 2009. Although his expertise lie in the Musical Theatre genre, he can often be found in local amateur productions, he filled the void of the classical show the station lacked. His show offers a wide range of classical music and also some music from film/tv soundtracks

- Ben Tierney - Haggis For Lunch
Ben is retired peripatic music teacher and brass instrument specialist, known locally as a conductor. He is currently involved with two music organisations in Harrogate: The White Rose Concert Band and the Tewit Youth Band Organisation. Served 12 years as a musician with the RAF music service and is currently the chairman of the old boys association.
