Drum Major Academy

Drum Major Academy

The Drum Major Academy was founded in 1978 at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Since its inception, nearly 70,000 high school and college students have attended its summer programs and received instruction on how to be more effective drum majors and student leaders. Founded by George N. Parks, the former director of the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band, the Drum Major Academy has long been recognized by most marching band professionals and band teachers/directors as one of the top locations to send drum majors for training and instruction.
