- Inver House Distillers Limited
Inver House Distillers Limited was established in 1964 as a subsidiary of the American company, Publicker Industries of Philadelphia. Publicker Industries had successfully launched Inver House Rare, a branded of blended Scotch whisky in 1956, however, as a result of Industry demand there were not sufficient stocks to meet sales.
Under the chairmanship of Mr S S Neuman, a site was acquired at Airdrie in March 1964 and a fully integrated complex was constructed including a malt distillery: Glenflagler and Killyloch; and, a grain distillery Garnheath were constructed.
Following the death of the founder, there was a period of decline in the fortunes of the company and the operation was subsequently the subject of a management buyout in January 1988. The company was then sold by the management to Pacific Spirits Group in 2001.
Inver House is now a subsidiary of Thai Beverages one of the largest beverage alcohol companies in South East Asia with a market capitalisation in excess of US$4bn.
Inver House Distillers Limited is now a leading distiller of single malt whisky and owns and operates five distilleries: Old Pulteney Distillery, The Speyburn-Glenlivet Distillery, Balblair Distillery, Knockdhu Distillery and Balmenach Distillery.
