Dr.Hussain K.Randathani is an academic, writer and historian from Malappuram, Kerala. He has served as the Principal of M.E.S. Keveeyam College, Valanchery. He has also served as Director, Islamic Research and Development Council.

He is contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Ponnani Constituency as an Independent candidate and he failed supported by the Left Democratic Front (LDF).

Public Life

Dr.Hussain Randathani has to his credit numerous academic research activities covering a wide range of topics. His works include "Mappila Muslims: A Study on Society and Anti Colonial Struggles",^[1] "Genesis and Growth of the Mappila Community".^[2] His research on the increasing suicides in Kerala was widely acclaimed.^[3] Dr.Randathani always believed in (and advocated) the power of education to change the lives of the oppressed classes of the society.^[4]

Dr.Randathani was a member of the 11-member panel set up by the Kerala Government to submit recommendations for the implementation of the Sachar Committee report in Kerala.^[5]
