Dr. Rhina Toruño-Haensly is Professor of Spanish and Graduate Head at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.[1]
Biography
Professor Rhina Toruño-Haensly first arrived in the United States from El Salvador as a visiting scholar at Stanford University in 1981. Her academic background includes two doctorates—one in Latin American Literature, from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, United States, and a doctorate and master’s degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. She has a second master’s degree in Literature from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. She is the founding member and president of the first UTPB Spanish Literary Club (1996 – present) in Midland / Odessa in West Texas.
