Leon Stanislaus Talaska, M.D. (born 28 June 1875 in Bay City, Michigan - 11 March 1935) was a medical doctor[1] and the first physician of Polish descent in Toledo.[2]
He came to Toledo, Ohio in 1894 where he attended the Toledo Medical College, graduating with a medical degree in 1898[3]. Talaska was appointed City Physician by then-mayor Brand Whitlock.[4][unreliable source?] Talaska was appointed as Superintendent of Toledo Contagious Hospital in January, 1910[5]
Talaska was a member of the Toledo Chamber of Commerce, the Polish National Alliance and the Polish Falcons.
