Downs Nunatak

Downs Nunatak (69°36′S 66°40′W / 69.6°S 66.667°W / -69.6; -66.667) is a nunatak rising to 1,000 m between Garcie Peaks and Webb Peak, Crescent Scarp, in northwest Palmer Land. The nunatak was photographed from the air by United States Antarctic Service (USAS), 1940, U.S. Navy, 1966, and was surveyed by British Antarctic Survey (BAS), 1970-73. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Bobby G. Downs, U.S. Navy, cook, Palmer Station, winter party 1968.
