Dominic Pettman is a cultural theorist, author, and associate professor/chair of the Culture and Media program at Lang College, The New School (New York). Pettman's work combines cultural studies, media studies, and philosophical approaches, on topics ranging from new media, contemporary fiction, popular culture, and animal studies. Pettman's books include After the Orgy (inspired by the work of Jean Baudrillard), an object-philosophy book entitled Avoiding the Subject (co-written with Justin Clemens), and Love and Other Technologies. Pettman's most recent book is Human Error: Species-Being and Media Machines (published as part of the "Posthumanities" series at the University of Minnesota Press).
