The area traditionally belonged to the Styria region. It is now included in the Podravska statistical region.[2]
Dobrava Castle was a castle in the settlement. It is first mentioned in written documents dating to 1419. During the Second World War it was burnt to the ground and its remains were removed after the war by an agricultural cooperative keen to develop the land.[3]
