Doctor of Nursing Science

Doctor of Nursing Science

The Doctor of Nursing Science, usually abbreviated DNS, DSN, DNSc, or DScN., is an academic research degree awarded in a number of countries throughout the world as a terminal research degree in Nursing. This academic research degree is recognized by both the United States Department of Education and the National Science Foundation to be equivalent to the more commonly awarded Ph.D.[1]

Most universities have discontinued the degree in favor of the more recognized Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
