Department of Distributed Intelligent Systems of Saint Petersburg Polytechnical University - department of Institute of International Educational Programs was founded in 2005 and now trains bachelors, masters and specialists in fields of information technologies and automation control systems.

Research and development, interaction with the industry are the major components of our activities. The Department has two branches in largest industrial enterprises of St. Petersburg. The Department together with company Siemens has created laboratory of industrial automation. Also was opened the Academic Competence Center SAP.
Department focus the education programs on fundamental knowledge in theoretical and applied mathematics, numeric algebra, advanced informatics and computer science, optimization and decision making theory, formal logic, knowledge and reasoning theory. Students can obtain special knowledge in fields of artificial intelligence, neuro-informatics and cognitive system theories, intelligent computing, knowledge engineering and management, advanced and intelligent robotics, computer networking and wireless communication, machine vision and images processing technology and agent-based technology.

The Department is preparing graduate students and doctoral students in advanced areas of computer science, computer engineering and control theory.
