Dipslide

Dipslide

Dipslides are in general a test for the presence of bacteria within fluids / solids (food, soil) or on surfaces. They are incredibly useful tools in identifying any potentially damaging organisms that may be present and breeding within the home or workplace.[1]

Each dipslide has culture media on each side which after testing and when analysed using instruction / comparison charts, can then identify any bacteria present. Each different type of dipslide utilises its own agars which test for various organisms or is selective for only one type of bacteria. This means that each type of dip slide is usually used for one kind of test or is used within specific industries.

One of the most popular dipslides is the BT2 slide which is an all purpose general dip slide. This particular slide is used in a variety of industries and workplaces. It calculates the amount of aerobic bacteria in fluids and solids and is recommended for use in testing industrial water systems.

Another general use slide is the PC2T, although it is used primarily in the dairy industry. This slide is particularly useful for testing and monitoring levels of bacteria in food products and is therefore a very useful and important slide.

Dipslides can also be used for testing for health. The TT2 dipslide is used for testing urine as an alternative to the current midstream specimen tests.

There are over 20 different types of dip slides available for so many different methods of testing.

Dipslides are provided in boxes of 10 and each have their own protective, durable container.
