The second season of the television series Dill Mill Gayye commenced airing in India on September 22, 2009. The show airs from Monday to Friday at 08:00 pm on STAR One. After a six month leap, 5 new interns enter while the old interns will become resident doctors. The second season introduces five new interns : Dr. Siddhant Modi, Dr. Tamanna Patil, Dr. Naina Mehra, Dr. Yuvraaj and Dr. Jitendra Prasad.

While Dr. Shashank Gupta, Dr. Riddhima Gupta and Dr. Armaan Malik continue playing the most important roles.

Production

The season is produced by Cinevistaas Limited. It is directed by Shambhu Nath.

Plot

Initially, Dr. Siddhant falls for Dr Tammana. But Tamanna gets engaged to another man leaving for Canada with her fiance. Meanwhile Yuvraj and Naina Fall in love with each other. Yuvi goes to her house to ask his dad for proposal. Dr. Abhimanyu and Dr. Nikita Get Engaged. Dr. Keerti is pregnant and also gives birth to a boy in the elevator when Dr. Naina was the one who was with her in the elevator. Siddhanth's younger sister Suvarna Modi and Yuvraj's arch enemy Raj Singh (Yuvraj Singh) also join Sanjeevani as new interns. Riddhima returns. She and Dr. Siddhant develop an immediate dislike towards each other. But they end up getting married due to unavoidable circumstances. The show then mainly focuses on their married life and how they are adjusting with their new life (they never really complete their relationship). Armaan returns back. Siddhant decides to divorce Riddhima, but then they decide to stay together on behest of Dr.Shashank. Dr. Shilpa(Riddhima's half sister) joins Sanjeevani. Armaan and Shilpa initially hate each other but eventually become friends. Soon she starts liking Armaan. She finds out about Armaan and Riddhima but is unable to move on. She hopes Armaan will fall for her, but when she realises that Armaan still loves Riddhima, she leaves. Siddhant and Riddhima retake their vows and marry again (they still don't complete their relationship). But later on Siddhant realizes that Riddhima still loves Armaan and leaves Riddhima. Finally in the end Armaan and Riddhima end up together and Siddhant moves on. Love story of Armaan Riddhima ends happily and shows they were made for each other and that true love will always find its way.

Characters

The second season also introduces 6 new interns to Sanjeevani : Dr. Siddhant Modi, played by Karan Wahi, a cute adventurous guy. Dr. Naina Mehta played by Neha Jhulka, an energetic and adventurous chatterbox. Dr. Yuvraaj Oberoi played by Sehban Azim a serious, mature and mysterious character. Dr. Tamanna Patil played by , the sweet, simple and Moulshree Sachdeva good natured girl. Dr. Jitendra Prasad played by Prasad Barve, a colorful and loud character from Mughalsarai (UP). Dr. Shilpa Malhotra played by Shilpa Anand,an energetic and adventurous chatterbox.

• Dr. Siddhant Modi - A smart and spoilt brat from a filthy rich NRI family. Everybody is a doctor in his family, so he has been sent to India to get real and focused. But for Sid life is a one big PS3 game. He is never serious about anything in life and has a general disregard for everything. He didn't want to become a doctor as it takes a lot of hard work. A complete gadget freak wants to get out of this filth and go back to his high life in Houston. Sid loves to flirt but will never commit, he is an overgrown temperamental kid. The shrew who needs to be tamed. But he is capable of being brilliant because with minimal effort he does well. He is the cousin of Senior Dr. Abhimanyu Modi. Handsome and is quite snobbish, he is also in depth, a nice guy at heart. He think his attraction towards Dr. Tamanna is love, but soon he realises his mistake and move forward in his life after Dr. Tamanna leaves Sanjeevani. Currently, the track of dmg is showing his budding love for Dr. Riddhima, to whom he gets married.

• Dr. Suvarna Modi - Sid's twin and the newest intern; an outspoken tomboy, who likes bikes and car racing and martial arts. She is Sid's best pal and understands his 'Superboy' bro more than any one else. She comforts Yuvraj when Naina leaves him and slowly develops a soft corner for him.

• Dr. Naina Mehta - Naina is from a rich but orthodox Gujju family and is the youngest of six siblings. But she is not the one to compromise on anything -she'll work her way around all stuff. She is a convincing and a shameless liar, but does not to hurt anyone. Her parents want to arrange her marriage but she is interested in her career. She always maintains a dual identity leaving home wearing a salwar kameez and transforming into spaghetti straps and minis. Always high on energy and life like a firebrand and bindaas. Is a chatterbox and is quite street - smart. Loves trying out new things and experimenting. She has a point to prove to herself which makes her rebellious in a positive way. When she first meets Yuvi she hates him and his over confident attitude. But as time goes by she falls in love with him and his attitude attracts her even more. Yuvi is only trusting her for keeping his secrets. Naina but does not know that she is being used by Yuvi. That's what you call blind love. She has confessed to yuvi on the episode on 12/23/09 but this is not yet given that Naina likes a guy who is using her. But sooner Yuvi will realize of how ridiculous he was being using Naina. Character played by Neha Jhulka.

• Dr. Yuvraaj Oberoi - He is a middle class boy with a modern outlook. Life for him is a series of discoveries. He is serious and focused and believes that medical practice is not only a science but also an art. He has a wicked sense of humor full with one liners and wise cracks. Always takes stands and has opinions making him the most balanced and matured person amongst all the other interns. You can always put your money on his future. He goes on to become Dr Shashank's proxy guy - but little does anyone know. What he has shown is his brother is in the mental hospital. The way he got in the mental hospital was because of something Shashank did and is out to take revenge on him... watch out! Though he uses Naina to get to him at the same he feels bad for Naina because she is deeply in love with him and he is getting a feeling that he shouldn't do that but whenever he looks back at his brother there always that fire in him that makes him use Naina again. He found out that Dr. Shashank did nothing to his brother but saved his brother (he found out the truth from naina), he realises that he has also fallen for naina. Later he leaves Sanjeevni and goes to US with Suvarna Modi. Character played by Sehban Azim

• Dr. Tamanna Patil - A girl with middle class moralities. She is focused on her career and doesn't get distracted. She is the reliable and responsible daughter of her parents. Tamanna has a high sense of justice, is simple yet smart, sensitive and compassionate. She is the star of her chawl. She is always seen in salwar kameez with distinct style and look. On her rests the hopes dreams of her family. She is to be in love with Sid as well but can not speak in front of her father this way that she is get married to Aniket. She is very emotional though Sid has lied to her many times and she is not in the mood of meeting or thinking he is her friend. She is also very sensitive and righteous and bears slight similarities with Riddhima . She leaves Sanjeevani after getting married to her father's choice and also make Sid understand about his attraction towards her which he's thinking as love. Character played by Moulshree Sachdeva

• Dr. Jitendra Prasad - A funny, humorous character from Mughalsarai. He considers himself as a very smart and intelligent doctor but in reality, it is the opposite. All of the staff laugh at him and he feels they are happy and proud of him. He is quite silly and cracks stupid jokes at times. He keeps the atmosphere live in Sanjeevani and provides comic relief to the audience. Character played by Prasad Barve.

• Jiggy - Jignesh, who is introduced as Naina's childhood friend, comes to Sanjeevani, pretending to be a patient as he has no place to live. Later on, encouraged by Naina and others, joins Sanjeevani as a male nurse. He is always seen with JP and both desperately wants a girlfriend for themselves.

• Shilpa Malhotra- Shilpa is a very bubbly girl...who is full of life and a die-heart romantic who is in search of her prince charming who will come on a white horse and sweep her away off her feet just like in fairy tales. She is introduced as a new intern in Sanjeevani, she has come here in search of her sister Riddhima (who doesn't know anything about her and ends up hating her due to her certain assumptions ). In the process she meets Armaan and have a fight with him in their first meet but gradually looses her heart to him without realizing that he is in love with her sister. As she gets to know this she quits Sanjeevani with a broken heart. Character played by Shilpa Anand

The other characters from Season I also play important roles. The prime cast from season I includes: Dr.Riddhima Gupta played by Jennifer Winget, Dr.Armaan Mallik played by Karan Singh Grover, Dr. Shashank Gupta played by Mohnish Behl, Dr. Atul Joshi played by, Pankit Thakker, Dr. Anjali Gupta played by Sunaina Gulia, Dr. Nikita Malhotra played by Shweta Gulati and Abhimanyu Modi played by Amit Tandon. Other characters include Suvarna Modi played by Madhura Naik, Dr. Yuvraaj Singh (Raj) played by Baron Sobti, Padma Gupta played by Ekta Behl and Dr. Keerti Mehra Rai played by Sonia Singh. while Dr. Rahul Grewal, Dr. Muskaan Chaddha were absent. While Dr. Shubankar Rai made an appearance for few episode in the end.
