Dilip Venkatachari is an Indian-American inventor, engineer, serial entrepreneur, businessman and board member with several corporations.

Entrepreneur and Board Member

Dilip Venkatachari has been the co-founder of three companies, CashEdge, CommerceSoft (acquired by Aspect Communications) and Compass Labs. Dilip is currently CEO of Compass Labs a social media-focused start-up, offering stealth-mode search, a unique social precision marketing technology.[1] In the past; he served on the board of directors of dotMobi (mTLD Mobi Top Level Domain), Ltd. and CashEdge. Dilip is currently (2010) on the Board of Directors of PanIIT USA, the US alumni association of the Indian Institutes of Technology.[2]

Technology Executive

Dilip Venkatachari has held a variety of executive roles in technology companies. At Google he was the Director of Mobile Ads Products leading the mobile advertising and monetization business. Dilip was Vice President of PayPal’s (eBay) Payment Services and Business Operations, responsible for payments infrastructure, relationships with financial institutions, risk and fraud management, card and bank processing relationships, and regulatory compliance; Vice President of Insights Data Strategy at Yahoo!; Executive in Residence at New Enterprise Associates (NEA); CEO of Commerce Soft; President of CashEdge, GM at Aspect Communications; and Vice President at Tandem Computers. Prior to that, Dilip worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co and with Goldman Sachs.[3]

Inventor

Dilip holds several US, European and World patents. The first was awarded in 1997- "Method and apparatus for monitoring information access". His inventions include technological data management products for analyzing and implementing financial transactions.[4]

Education

Dilip earned an M.B.A. with distinction from the Harvard Business School in 1987, an M.S.E.E. from Rice University in 1983, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1981.[5]
