Digital nomads are a new breed of resourceful entrepreneurs who are able to live and work anywhere they please. Nomadic workers typically enjoy a flexible and fulfilling lifestyle, leveraging technology and the internet to work remotely—from home, the coffee shop, internet cafe, or even to collaborate remotely with teams anywhere in the world. This flexibility and freedom is increasingly attractive in current economic conditions, which is leading more and more people to seek out work they can do on their own terms, that they're more passionate about, that they can do from home, or from anywhere.
Entire communities like Digital Nomad Academy have come together to help small business owners and entrepreneurs learn how they can reach a more global audience, make their operations more virtual and mobile, and "internationalize" themselves so as not to rely solely on local economies. [1]
Nomadic entrepreneurs & professionals often work as freelance writers, photographers, affiliate marketers, web designers, developers, graphic designers, and other types of knowledge workers who can get their work done without reliance on any one location. They frequently use new technologies like a smartphone, wifi, and web-based applications to enable their lifestyle, and earn an income wherever they live or travel.[2][3] Digital nomads also often utilize coworking spaces and shared offices in major cities around the world.
