Dietz Bluff (72°2′S 62°8′W / 72.033°S 62.133°W) is a prominent bluff at the head of Hilton Inlet on the Black Coast, Palmer Land. The bluff was photographed from the air by United States Antarctic Service (USAS), 1940, and by Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE), 1947; mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from U.S. Navy aerial photographs taken 1966-69. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN), in association with the names of continental drift scientists grouped in this area, after Robert S. Dietz, American marine geologist with Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory, Miami, Florida, from 1967.
