The Queen Was in the Parlour: a romance in three acts is a play by the English writer Noel Coward. Belonging to the Ruritanian romance genre, its title is drawn from a line in the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence. Although written in 1922, it was not produced until 24 August 1926, when it premiered at the St Martin's Theatre.[1]

It has been adapted for film three times - the first two times under its original title (in 1927 as a silent movie and in 1928 as a talking picture)[2] and the third time as Tonight Is Ours in 1933.
