Plot
Anxiously awaited by her faithful maid Hermine, Countess Báthory, la comtesse sanglante, tigress in human skin, emerges into daylight. A fast-paced treasure hunt on the trail of the ancestors takes the female team through eerily beautiful Vienna. Her retinue: Countess Báthory's nephew Bubi (a downtrodden vegetarian vampire type), his therapist, two eager vampirologists, corpse students from the Vampiria Fighting Brotherhood, a women's orchestra, etc. Viennese Blood flows freely, and the hearts of the Viennese and the Habsburgs soar – a mad journey to the roots of the enduring, powerful myth of the Vampire Empire, and a final a showdown at the Vienna Prater – during midnight soupé on the Ferris wheel.[3]

Production
The German director Ulrike Ottinger cast Tilda Swinton and Isabelle Huppert in the lead roles of the €5 million production. Filming began in June 2010.[4] The producers of the German-Austrian film are Kurt Mayer and Heino Deckert.[3] It is the International remake of the Ulrike Ottingers German film from 2000.[5]
Soundtrack
The score is by the Dutch pianist Maud Nelissen.[6]
