Every year a kabbadi mela held in dhandwar which was the one of the biggest kabbadi tournament in Punjab, all international clubs play here every December 24,25,26. The tournament was held in Dhandwar school ground tournament is coming from since 1965, village motive is to protect youth from drugs. moreover mostly peaple or youth play cricket in village ground and in ground of bava nand gir ji ground

Cricket, football, handball, volleyball, badminton, kabbadi are played in the village. A gym was made for youth.

Mela

After Kabbadi tournament next day mela was held in Dhandwar village on 27 December, it is a huge mela of bava nand gir ji, In mela huge amount of people come huge crowd near most this mela is since 1954, there most best singers are come every year like harbajan mann, manmohan varis, ks makhan, kuldeep manak, yudvir manak, gipi garaval and,kuldeep rasila,gita zaildar,sabar kothi,satwinder biti,satwinder buga,jally mangitpuriya, many more and in 2004 the cm of punjab come to this village.

History

Baba Nand Gir temple;In the 17 or 18 century this baba(Holy saint) lived in this village the rain failed to come in the village so the baba(Holy saint) prayed to God for rain and could not eat anything for month when the rain came the baba was dead, the temple was made for his honor.

In the village there are two Gurdwaras' made, one temple is made, and 3 masjids' made. The people of this village of any caste go these temples: The Gurdwara and masjid.

Surname

Dhandwar surname which is (jatt sikh) in the village but after a stone come from village the people change his surname to Madahar Now Dhandwar and Madahar are the same surname, so some people write Dhandwar and some write Madahar. Dhandwar surname people also live in Cheema, gadi maha Singh, singer you know well. Gita jaldar is also from this was also from this surname Dhandwar

Now lidder are also live in Dhandwar, kailey, Kainth surname people also live in the village, davlarh & dutt people surname live here.
