Extinctionism (religious concept)

Extinctionism, or destructionism, is a religious theory which states that those who die in their sins will wake to consciousness in another state or world, will be consigned to a place of punishment, and, after suffering for a while, will be blotted out of existence. It has been extremely difficult, either on scriptural, scientific, or philosophical grounds, to defend this theory.^[1]
