Focused entirely on destinations in Asia and the Pacific, the magazine covers new developments in high-end restaurants, hotels, airlines, and tourist attractions, as well as publishing long-form narrative features, fashion spreads, and photographic essays. Annual features include the Readers' Choice Awards and the Luxe List, an editorial selection of the best hotels opened in the previous year. [1]
The [magazine] has won numerous awards for its articles, photographs, typography, and graphic design, including SOPA (Society of Publishers in Asia) awards for Excellence in Feature Photography (2010, 2009, 2008,2005 ) Excellence in Feature Writing (2008, 2007, 2004, 2003) Excellence in Magazine Design (2002, 2003, 2006); editorial design awards the Advertising and Design Club of Canada (2003, 2005), a Bronze Award from the Society of American Travel Writers; a Communication Arts Award for Excellence in Design (2003); and awards from the Advertising Design Club of Canada (2002, 2003, 2005), Society of Publication Designers (2002), and the World Gourmet Summit (2003, 2004).[2]
In April 2011, DestinAsian launched a new redesign by its creative director Tom Brown, updating its typography, editorial grid, and editorial architecture. [3]
