Paul Kangas has been the
Miami -based anchor and financial commentator host of the American television program "Nightly Business Report " since it was a localFlorida program that began in 1979. The show is still produced in Florida, where he resides with his wife, Peni. Although he hosts a show that gives financial advice and he was astockbroker for 12 years, Kangas owns no stock.Fact|date=February 2007Kangas was born in

He entered theUnited States Coast Guard in the early 1960s and served aboard the USCG Cutter Mackinaw. Later, he served as aide to the admiral in command of the 9th Coast Guard District in Cleveland, Ohio. Kangas completed his Coast Guard service in 1963 as a Lieutenant (Junior Grade) and earned his brokers license after studying at theNew York University Stern School of Business .
