Personal life
Winston is the cousin of Minnesota bantamweight boxing champion Antwan Robertson.
Amateur career
Winston boxed as an amateur out of Minneapolis' elite Circle of Discipline gym, where he trained under Sankara Frazier and alongside fellow amateur elites Javontae Starks and Jamal James. [1] He was the Upper Midwest Golden Gloves champion in 2006 and 2007. Winston was once called an "ultimate badass" by boxing journalist Ryan Hamilton [2]
Professional career
Under the management of John Hoffman, Winston made his professional debut with a unanimous decision win against David Laque on October 23, 2009. He won his second bout, another unanimous decision, against Taide Torres on December 18 of the same year. Winston's current professional record is 2-0 with no knockouts. [3]
