History
Delta Sigma was founded at Lewis Institute in September 1897, as an athletic fraternity fostering clean athletics, loyalty and high ideas. Delta Sigma was arguably the first secondary fraternity to accept members of the Jewish and Catholic faiths. Delta Sigma Chapters spread throughout the United States, and they remained active until the 1980s. By the 1980s most chapters of Delta Sigma had faded away. A few chapters may have remained into the early 1990s.
Members of Delta Sigma were commonly known as "Delts". The official publication of Delta Sigma was The Bulletin.
