Deji Afolabi Ayanleke was the acting Military Governor of Kwara State from 1988 to 1990, during the military regime of Major General Ibrahim Babangida in the Nigeria government. He was a Group Captain in the Royal Nigerian Air Force, as well as the base commander of the Nigerian Air Force base in Ilorin, Kwara state.[citation needed]

Personal background
Ayanleke attended Offa Grammar School and had training abroad in various countries, including Czechoslovakia, Russia, the United States, United Kingdom, Romania, and Bulgaria. The main plane he piloted was the Hercules C-130. He was married to Roseline Ayanleke of one of the royal families in Ile-Ife, Osun state, and has three sons.[citation needed]
Military background
He was base commander of the Nigerian Air Force base at Markudi, Ilorin, Victoria Island, and was award medals of FSS, PSS, and MNI. After retiring, he became the chairman of TCTC Transport, Oyo state, and left public life. He was a member of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI).[1]

Death
On 8 March 2010, he passed away due to high blood pressure at the age of 74.[citation needed]
