Deborah Woodard is an American poet, translator and teacher. She was born in New York City and grew up in Vermont. She is the author of four collections of poetry, including one-full length collection, Plato's Bad Horse, and three chapbooks. She also translates the poetry of Italian poet Amelia Rosselli; her collection of translations, The Dragonfly, co-translated with Giuseppe Leporace, was published in 2010. She has earned degrees from SUNY Buffalo, University of New Hampshire and UC Irvine. Woodard teaches at the Richard Hugo House in Seattle, Washington.
