Death Note Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases (アナザーノート — ロサンゼルスBB連続殺人事件) is a light novel written by Nisio Isin and released on August 1, 2006.[1][2] The story is a prequel to Death Note and recounts the Los Angeles "BB Murder Cases", which was mentioned briefly in Chapter 14/Episode 7 of the manga/anime. It was released in English by Viz Media on February 19, 2008.[3]

Plot

Narrated by Mello it recounts the first time L worked with Naomi Misora, searching for clues and trying to prevent the next victim of a psychotic serial killer, who is able to make murders look like suicides. The plot also has an interesting backstory to the orphanage from which L came from, Wammy's House, and the relationship between Naomi Misora and Raye Penber.

Notes

  • In the first chapter, Ryuzaki mentions how he use to be an avid fan of Akazukin Chacha whilst younger.
  • Throughout the book, Mello explains to the reader his understanding of L.
  • The plot of L: Change the World is briefly mentioned in the last chapter and is changed to fit in the real death note universe.
  • Both Aiber and Wedy are mentioned in the last chapter of the book.
