"Dayvan Cowboy" is the fifth song on The Campfire Headphase by Boards of Canada. The track was released on iTunes on October 4, 2005. The song and a remix of it, created by Odd Nosdam later appeared on the EP Trans Canada Highway. Like the rest of The Campfire Headphase, "Dayvan Cowboy" was composed by Marcus Eoin and Michael Sandison.

Overview
The track is one of Boards of Canada's best known, and is often seen as being a major ambient highlight of The Campfire Headphase. The track opens as a space music piece with distorted ambient synthesizers and gradually moves into a more rhythmic signatures.
Music video
In April 2006, a music video for the song "Dayvan Cowboy" was released on the Warp Records website. The video consists of footage from Joe Kittinger's famous parachute jump from 19.5 miles (31.4 km) altitude, and later slow-motion footage of big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton. The final scene of the music video showing a sunset or sunrise is from the film Crystal Voyager. The video was directed by Melissa Olson and has received over one million views on YouTube.
