Liberal-Progressive Party candidates, 1959 Manitoba provincial election

The Liberal-Progressive Party of Manitoba fielded a full slate of fifty-seven candidates in the 1959 provincial election, and elected eleven members to retain their status as the Official Opposition in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.

By-elections

Rhineland

November 26, 1959: David K. Friesen was a prominent resident of the Rhineland area. A historical summary of the by-election, written in 1969, described him as "well-known and wealthy, but not too popular".[1] He received 1,075 votes (29.99%), finishing third against Social Credit candidate Jacob Froese.
