David Jubermann (born 4 February 1982) is a New Zealand writer[1] and the author of Shiftlight[2][3] published in 2006.

He was born in Lindau/Germany and immigrated with his family to New Zealand in 1990. Brought up in Golden Bay, he completed bursary in 1999 and then moved to Christchurch. He was awarded a BSC degree from the University of Canterbury in 2002. David Jubermann is the founder and director of software company, Hexedra Systems Limited and currently lives and works in Auckland, where he continues to write.

His enthusiasm for performance cars was triggered by the diversity and controversy of the automotive scene in Christchurch. As a keen reader, he also noticed the lack of literature covering this genre. Prompted by his personal experiences and those of his friends,[4] he wrote his first novel, Shiftlight, and based it in Christchurch.[5] The book received many positive reviews[6][7][8] and was discussed on various forums.[9] His new book, based on drift racing, is a loose sequel to Shiftlight and will be published in 2011.
